CORAL WOOD LIGHT

Pendant light sold as a kitset to reduce its carbone footprint. Bamboo from sustainably managed forests and nylon rivets. The bigest model is made from hoop pine and aluminium rivets, professional assembly recommanded (Ø 160 cm).

Coral (2002) is based on one of the geometric polyhedra that have interested David since he was a boy. The intricate form is made from just one single component repeated 60 times. Originally designed purely as an experiment, it only became a light later when David tried to find a use for it by putting a bulb inside. This was a pivotal moment. What followed was a whole new direction in exploring lighting structures made from minimal shell-like skins which also act as patterned shadow makers.

The wooden light Coral is a sculptural piece that fills your space leaving the light going through its open structure. Smaller models will fit perfectly over a dining table or in a small room, the larger models will fit nicely in a space with a high ceiling like an entrance hall. 

The wooden lamp is available in a variety of sizes and finishes. The open structure of the light gives a nice shadow on walls and ceilings.

Coral can be supplemented with other lights from the collection of designer David Trubridge to create a rich set of shapes, colors and play shadow theatre.
